CANINE CHIROPRACTIC
Doc treats dogs for the following groups: * Show * Hunting * Agility * Sniffer * Attack/Guard * Detector * Domestic (Pet) * Fly ball * Dancing with Dogs * Obedience
Doc works on ALL breeds of canine, of ALL ages.
Many pet owners contact Doc on a daily basis when their animals begin to show signs of lameness. Some are unable to move at all by the time they see Doc. Some owners have exhausted all other options available to them.
It is Docs vision for his chiropractic treatments to become a part of an animals regular annual pet care, just like your pets annual vaccination is. If used as a preventative, rather than a response treatment, you will avoid the problems so many dogs sadly face in their later years. Treating puppies from 8 weeks of age will ensure they grow up "in alignment" to prevent the movement issues many older dogs dont need to face later in life.

SYMPTOMS TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT _468.jpg?365) These symptoms can lead to your dog being paralysed if left untreated:
- Crabbing (walking on sideways angle)
- Limping
- Not sitting square (dogs should sit straight, with one leg either side of body)
- Walking with head down, instead of holding
head high
- A dip down in the back (back should be flat)
- A roached back (curved upwards)
- Not extending forward fully with front legs when walking
- Not extending/driving or pushing back with rear legs when walking
- Appearing lame/sore in feet or wrist
- Can't hold tail up
- Shaking/quivering legs when resting or standing
- Doesn't like being touched on the head or other areas
- Shows discomfort or sits when being brushed
- Slow recall and command response
- Unhappy, listless or savage - take notice of change in temperament!
- Weight problems - inability to lose weight
- Not keeping up on a walk...Dogs generally like to please their owner. If your dog is being unusually disobedient it may be, not just because 'they dont want to follow your orders' but moreso because it hurts them to do so. If your dog wont "walk faster" or "sit quicker" don't force them to do it, look at Why!
CAUSES OF SYMPTOMS
Isolating the cause of your dogs injuries will help towards reducing the re-occurence of their symptoms. Being able to remove/reduce what caused your dogs problems in the first place will make for a more effective treatment by Doc for your dog and will also mean your dog will be fixed with fewer treatments so you are not throwing money away!!

WHAT "NOT" TO DO
· Do not use heat packs on your dog when they are sore · Do not massage your dog when they appear to be sore If nerves are pinched this will only inflame the nerves, cause muscle spasm and not make your dog any more comfortable · Do not try to manipulate your dog yourself in any way · Do not allow anyone (no matter from what profession / training / background), to manipulate your animal if they can’t tell you what is wrong with your pet, how / what they believe they have to do to fix them, that they have dealt with your pets problem before and that they CAN fix them for you. If nerves are not released properly and in the right order added pressure can be put on joints / the brain, depending on which nerves are pinched, and cause excruciating pain and further damage. Sometimes it takes more treatments to fix the damage caused by other people's poor manipulations
· Do not continue to exercise your dog until Doc advises you can. If your dog is walking abnormally because it is in pain, to continue to do this (no matter how much your dog demands his/her walk) is the worst thing you could do until nerves have been released and pain subsides so full movement can return. You will only be toning your dogs muscles to hold him/her "out of alignment" by doing this.
· Do not allow the dog that is in pain / moving badly to remain in the company of other dogs that you have. It may seem cruel to separate them and they may protest loudly but your dog could become unusually aggressive towards the other dog due to pain. Also what your dogs do together, could be what has caused their symptoms in the first place! After a treatment the good work can be undone by immediate rough play, especially because your dog will feel great after a treatment and want to play like crazy. If your dog had been out of alignment for a long period of time and has any muscle wastage, it won’t take much of a bump from another dog to "go back out". Prevent this from happening by separating them until Doc gets your dog in full health again.
FACTS
Dogs start to walk differently because it hurts too much to do so. The problem will not go away on its own. With rest, symptoms may subside but not for long.
The dogs pain is generally caused as a result of pinched nerves & referral pain.
Xrays do not show nerves therefore sometimes problem are misdiagnosed.
Anti-inflamatory / pain relief medications, while they relieve your dogs pain, will only mask up the problem. You may see your dogs symptoms diminish however this will not fix what is causing the problem - the medication does not address what caused the pain in the first place and symptoms often return.
The results of Docs treatments are instant (if owners follow Docs advice - Doc can do his job but when he leaves your home the changes you need to make to stop problems reoccuring for your animals are up to you!)- see my "video" page
Pinched nerves are present in all dogs - Doc works on pups from 3 mths of age
Nerves can be pinched as a result of the "Causes" listed above
SOME SCENARIOS
If your dog is not walking properly: For example, not fully reaching forward with their front legs or pushing back with their rear legs, your dogs muscles/body is not working as it should and you need to do something about it before it gets worse - do not just keep doing what you have been doing!
If your dog cannot lose weight: If your dog is not walking properly it will not lose weight easily. Muscles burn fat. If your dogs muscles are not working fully, due to your dog not being able to stretch out and walk properly because of pain, then no matter how much exercise they do it is impossible for them to efficiently burn fat
Limited movement is due to: Your dog experiencing pain when it does walk normally. Walking incorrectly for a long period of time will lead to your dog having muscle wastage, rather than muscles building up from exercise. No amount of exercise will help until nerves are released so the pain and muscle spasm goes away and they can walk normally pain free again and work their muscles.
Muscles hold bones in place and: If your dogs muscles waste away bones/joints can easily slip out of alignment. Slipping out of alignment results in nerves being pinched and leads to symptoms being exhibited (eg limping) which might be what has lead you to my website.
Dogs have a high pain tolerance: And, being pack animals, are reluctant to show weakness therefore you will not see major symptoms until the pain gets too much for them and they have no choice. If you havent noticed the little changes in your dogs composition earlier (dip/roached back, crabbing etc) it will seem like your dog has "suddenly deteriorated overnight" but this is not the case - your dog has had problems for a long time..... Don't despair though - contact me, I can fix your dog today!

OCT 2010 Bunjie - treated over a period of a number of weeks. Lame hind legs
Doc received an email from a new client as follows: Dear Doc My dog fell in a mellon hole about 2 years ago while running on the farm. He was paralysed in the back legs for 2-3 weeks. I nursed him back to walking by creating a sling to mobilise him outside for toileting. Gradually he improved with medication and rest, however he is gradually deteriorating. When we go for walks he can't gait, his back legs swing from side to side in a trot; when walking he tends to half plat his legs dragging his toes slightly on the ground. He can't sit properly either, appears to be in a lot pain, very stiff. I don't know if you can help me as we live in Rockhampton but you may know someone who can. I have been looking for help for quite some time. Due to his lack of mobility he is tending to put on weight which is exacerbating is situation. He only gets 1/4 cup dog biscuits and small bone daily. He should be 25kg and is now 29-30kg. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. I think we have sat on this problem for way too long as the vet recommended we should wait and see. He had all the x-rays and as you said nothing showed up relating to the nerves. Bunjie's initial accident occurred a couple of years ago so as you can imagine he has already suffered the muscle wasting in his back end. A month ago he fell down the stairs and he has reverted back to how he was when he just starting walking again. Some days he can't even walk around the house yard without falling over, not to mention squatting when he has to open his bowels. We have been trying to locate a chiropractor here but don't seem to be having too much success. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyOe4Ki5-U4
